The L.E.A.D. Award

25th July 2017

During the summer term children from the academies within the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust have been taking part in various activities that are part of the L.E.A.D. Award.

The L.E.A.D. Award is an entitlement of every learner in an academy in the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust.

It is a unique school based programme of reflective learning which aims to support schools in developing a broad and balanced curriculum and enhance the learners’ life skills whilst focussing on the growth of character at the same time.

The primary aim of the L.E.A.D. Award is to enable our learners to develop their resilience through the acquisition of leadership, communication and enterprise skills in a culture of high aspiration and through a variety of contexts.

Every learner is encouraged, and supported, to set their sights high and broaden their ambitions, irrespective of their individual circumstances.  The L.E.A.D. Award aims to foster this process through a diverse range of events.

The L.E.A.D. Award enables the learners to develop their character through three core components:

–          Communication

–          Enterprise

–          Learning Outside the Classroom

This term there has been significant activity related to achieving the above such as The Dragon’s Den, Bushcraft Days, whole Trust Athletics competition and the L.E.A.D. Concert.

Below are some photographs taken at the different L.E.A.D. Award activities.
